Nature and Taste: Sweet, neutral.

Source: It refers to the leaves of the plant Lulan in the Amaranthaceae family. The plant's morphology is detailed in the original form of Tu Ren Shen.

Original Form: An annual herbaceous plant, reaching up to 60 cm in height, fleshy, without hairs. The main root is thick and branched, with a brownish appearance. The stem is erect, with branches, cylindrical, and slightly woody at the base. The leaves are alternate, inverted ovate or inverted ovate-oblong, 5-7 cm long, 2.5-3.5 cm wide, gradually pointed or blunt rounded at the apex, with entire margins, and gradually narrowing at the base into a short petiole. The inflorescence is a terminal or axillary spike; dichotomous branches, small branches and pedicels at the base all have bracts; the flowers are small, bisexual, pale purple-red, with a diameter of about 6 mm; there are 2 sepals that fall off early; the petals are 5, inverted ovate or elliptical; stamens are more than 10; the ovary is spherical, the style is linear, and the stigma is deeply divided into 3 branches, with the apex outwardly expanded and slightly bent. The capsule is nearly spherical, about 4 mm in diameter, 3-valved, and becomes gray-brown when mature. The seeds are numerous, small, flat and round, black and shiny, with fine glandular dots on the surface. The flowering period is from June to October.

Effects: Promotes lactation; reduces swelling and detoxifies. It is mainly used for insufficient lactation, abscesses, swelling, and toxic sores.
