Caution: Xueshan Yizhihao - A Potent Folk Medicine for Injuries with Toxic Risks

  Xueshan Yizhihao is a folk medicine used for treating injuries such as bruises, swelling, and rheumatism. However, it is highly toxic and must be used with caution to avoid poisoning!
 


 

  Patella Fracture

  Xueshan Yizhihao injection can be administered intramuscularly or applied as a powder for treating rheumatoid arthritis, joint pain, trauma, fractures, and postoperative pain with significant analgesic effect.

  Another method is to mix 5-10g of Xueshan Yizhihao powder, 10-20g of holly leaf powder, 10g of Vaseline, and an appropriate amount of white wine. Make it into a paste with hot water and change the dressing once a day. This method has been applied to treat 50 cases of patella fracture, with 42 cases showing significant improvement and 6 cases being effective.

  Thrombophlebitis

  Main symptoms: mild cases may experience drowsiness, burning sensation in the mouth, increased secretion; severe cases may experience numbness, weakness, coldness, bloating, discomfort in the throat, nausea, vomiting, hallucinations, dizziness, palpitations, abdominal pain with the urge to defecate;

  Severe cases may faint, have cold limbs, irregular heart rhythm, low blood pressure, difficulty breathing, or seizures and coma, with electrocardiogram showing frequent premature contractions.

  Severe cases can lead to death due to circulatory and respiratory failure. There have been cases of poisoning resulting in death within 2 hours after taking the medicine, so it should be used with caution.
 


 

  Rescue methods: According to general clinical experience, atropine, procaine amide, and quinidine are considered relatively effective antagonists, and timely use of them can be effective.

  In addition, folk remedies such as bamboo shoots, bamboo roots, bamboo, cilantro, windproof, tea leaves, licorice, etc. are used as detoxifiers. Any 2-3 of them can be selected in a dosage of 5 qian each, boiled in water and taken orally. Alternatively, any one of lard, brown sugar, or honey can be used to cook porridge and consumed as appropriate.

  Medication Taboos

  1. Avoid eating raw and cold food, beans, beef, and mutton during medication.

  2. Oral administration of alcoholic preparations is prohibited.

  3. Symptoms of poisoning mainly include strong excitation of the vagus nerve, salivation, vomiting, abdominal pain, arrhythmia, hypotension, shock, difficulty breathing, seizures, and coma, which can lead to death due to circulatory and respiratory failure.

  4. It is highly toxic and must be processed and dosed strictly before oral administration. It should not be consumed without proper processing.

  5. Pregnant women, the elderly, children, and patients with heart disease or ulcers should avoid taking it.
