Clinical manifestations of spleen and kidney yang deficiency type dysentery:

There is a dull and lingering abdominal pain, which is relieved by pressing and warming. The stool is red, white, clear, and thin, without a foul smell, or it may be like white mucus. In severe cases, there may be involuntary bowel movements, anal fullness and bloating, and worsening after defecation. There is aversion to cold and cold limbs; decreased appetite and fatigue; sore and weak lower back and knees; pale tongue with thin white coating; and deep, weak pulse.


[Coix Seed Lotus Seed Porridge]

Ingredients: 30g coix seed, 10g lotus seed.

Preparation: Cook the coix seed until half cooked, then add the lotus seed and continue cooking until it becomes a porridge. Add a little rock sugar for seasoning when eating.

Efficacy: Strengthen the spleen and dispel dampness.

Usage: Take it twice daily, as breakfast and dinner.

[Peach Blossom Porridge]

Ingredients: 24g red stone resin, 6g dried ginger, 30g glutinous rice.

Preparation: Crush the red stone resin, put it in a pot with ginger, add an appropriate amount of water, decoct until 50ml of juice is obtained, remove the residue. Cook the glutinous rice into porridge, then add the medicinal juice and boil.

Efficacy: Warm the middle and nourish the stomach, astringe the intestines and stop diarrhea.

Usage: Take it warm on an empty stomach and finish it in one serving.

[Garlic Stewed Tripe]

Ingredients: 100g pig tripe, 150g garlic.

Preparation: Wash the pig tripe, peel the garlic, put them in a pot with an appropriate amount of water, cook until the pig tripe is tender, then take it out and slice it into tripe, simmer it again and season with salt.

Efficacy: Strengthen the spleen, nourish deficiency, and detoxify to stop dysentery.

[Crucian Carp Soup]

Ingredients: 1000g big crucian carp, 10g water chestnut, 10g amomum fruit, 10g tangerine peel, 10g black pepper, 10g dried chili, 2 garlic cloves.

Preparation: Wash the crucian carp, stuff it with water chestnut, amomum fruit, tangerine peel, garlic, black pepper, and dried chili. Pan-fry the crucian carp with oil, then add an appropriate amount of water, stew it into soup, and season.

Efficacy: Invigorate the spleen and warm the stomach.

Usage: Eat it on an empty stomach as desired.
