Combining Diet Therapy for Effective Control of Coronary Heart Disease

Many people neglect their health when they are young, which leads to various diseases in old age. Coronary heart disease is one of the common diseases in the elderly, and its severity lies in the high incidence of sudden death, which poses great harm to the health and life of patients. Medicated Diet 1: Ophiopogon and Coix Seed Porridge

Ingredients: 25g Ophiopogon, 25g Rehmannia, 50g Coix seed, 10g ginger, 80g glutinous rice.

Method: Wash the glutinous rice; wash the ginger and slice it; wash the coix seed and mix it with Ophiopogon, Rehmannia, coix seed, and ginger in a clay pot. Add an appropriate amount of water and stew it until it becomes a thick soup. Remove the residue and continue to cook with glutinous rice to make porridge. Take one dose daily, divided into two servings.

Effect: Nourish the heart and kidneys. Used to treat symptoms of dizziness, tinnitus, chest pain, palpitations, and night sweats caused by coronary heart disease with heart and kidney yin deficiency.

Medicated Diet 2: Ginseng and Quail Egg Soup

Ingredients: 5g red ginseng, 5g Chinese angelica, 5g salvia, 8-10 quail eggs, 2-5g seaweed, salt, and sesame oil, as needed.

Method: Boil red ginseng, Chinese angelica, and salvia together to make medicinal juice. Remove the residue and retain the juice. Beat the quail eggs into a bowl, mix them with the medicinal juice, and add seaweed, salt, and sesame oil. Steam until cooked. Take once daily for 7-10 days as one course of treatment.

Effect: Warm the yang, dispel cold, and dissolve stasis to relieve pain. Used to treat coronary heart disease caused by cold congealing the heart meridian. It can alleviate symptoms such as chest tightness, palpitations, and cold limbs.

Medicated Diet 3: Chinese Holly and Pig's Trotter Soup

Ingredients: 80g Chinese holly, 1 pig's trotter, a small amount of salt.

Method: Wash the Chinese holly and chop it. Roast the pig's trotter on fire for a while, remove the hair, wash it, and chop it into small pieces. Place the Chinese holly and pig's trotter in a pot, add an appropriate amount of water, bring to a boil over high heat, and simmer over low heat for about 1 hour. When the pig's trotter is cooked and tender, remove the residue, season with a little salt, and serve.

Effect: Tonify qi, activate blood circulation, relax tendons, and open collaterals. Used to treat coronary heart disease caused by blood stasis, it can relieve symptoms such as palpitations, chest tightness, and blood stasis.

A survey shows that one-third of patients with coronary heart disease die suddenly. Therefore, once suffering from coronary heart disease, patients must always maintain a calm and stable state of mind, avoid emotional fluctuations, and actively cooperate with daily life adjustments.
