1. Genetic Factors

Medicinal Diets for Hair Growth

1. Seven Treasure He Shou Wu Porridge

    Ingredients: 20 grams of He Shou Wu, 15 grams of Huang Jing, 30 grams of Chinese yam, 12 grams of lotus seeds, 10 grams of lily, 10 jujubes, 60 grams of corn.

    Method: First, wrap He Shou Wu and Huang Jing in gauze, put them in a pot with 2000 milliliters of water, boil for 30 minutes, remove the medicine bag and set aside the broth.

    Then, wash the corn and put it in the pot, remove the jujube cores, and add the Chinese yam, lotus seeds, and jujubes to the pot. Add the broth and an appropriate amount of water, simmer over low heat to make a thick porridge, add lily and cook for another 10 minutes, and it is ready to eat, sweet or salty.

    Function: Tonify the kidneys and spleen, promote hair growth and beauty.

    He Shou Wu and Huang Jing nourish the kidneys and replenish essence and blood to darken the hair;

    Chinese yam, lotus seeds, and jujubes can invigorate the spleen and stomach, promote digestion and elimination of turbidity; lily can nourish the lung yin and moisten the hair; corn can nourish the middle and nourish the yin, promoting beauty and hair growth.

2. Longan He Shou Wu Soup

    Ingredients: 20 longan fruits, 15 grams of He Shou Wu, 6 grams of Angelica sinensis, 12 grams of hawthorn berries, 6 jujubes (pitted), and an appropriate amount of rock sugar.

    Method: First, put He Shou Wu, Angelica sinensis, and hawthorn berries in a pot, add 1000 milliliters of water, simmer for 20 minutes, remove the residue and keep the broth; soak the longan fruits and jujubes in a small amount of water, then steam them until cooked.

    Add the medicinal broth and rock sugar to the pot, boil until it reduces to 400 milliliters, add the longan fruits and jujubes, and boil for 4 minutes. Thicken the soup with wet starch or lotus root starch, and it is ready to serve, sweet and sour.
