Ze Xie: A Versatile Chinese Medicinal Herb for Treating Various Ailments

Ze Xie is a very valuable Chinese medicinal herb that can be used to treat various diseases in humans. It not only has the effect of clearing heat and promoting blood circulation, but also can relieve summer heat when consumed in summer. Below, I will recommend several ways to consume Ze Xie.


Method 1: Pig's Bristle and Ze Xie Soup with Pig Bones

Method 2: Pig's Bristle and Ze Xie Soup with Crucian Carp

Ingredients: 800g of old winter melon, 1/2 fresh lotus leaf, 12g of pig's bristle, 12g of Ze Xie (available at Chinese medicine stores), 80g of coix seed, 1 crucian carp, 100g of lean pork, 3 slices of ginger.

Preparation: Wash all the ingredients. Cut the winter melon into chunks with the skin and seeds. Soak the Chinese medicine and coix seed. Clean and fry the crucian carp until slightly yellow, then add a little water. Put all the ingredients into a clay pot, add 3000ml of water (about 12 bowls), bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer for two and a half hours over low heat. Add salt to taste. Serves 3-5 people.

Method 3: Ze Xie Porridge

Ingredients: 10g of Ze Xie, 100g of rice, a little white sugar.

Preparation: Clean the Ze Xie and put it into a pot. Add an appropriate amount of water and decoct to extract the juice. Cook the rice into porridge. Add white sugar when it is cooked, and boil for another one or two boilings. Take 1-2 doses daily.

Effect: Regular consumption of this porridge has good therapeutic effects on urinary retention, edema, diarrhea, cloudy urine, leukorrhea, phlegm retention, and kidney yin deficiency, as well as nocturnal emission and dizziness caused by excessive fire and hyperactivity of liver yang.

Method 4: Long Dan Ze Xie Wine

Ingredients: 30g of long dan grass, 30g of skullcap, 10g of Ze Xie, appropriate amount of gardenia fruit, plantago seed, and akebia stem, as well as prepared rhizome and Chinese angelica, and yellow wine.

Preparation: Prepare by hot soaking method. Take 20-30ml three times a day. Take it at the end of the week before menstruation.

Effect: Mainly used to treat symptoms of dysmenorrhea in women.
