Schisandra: A Versatile Traditional Chinese Medicine for Liver Health

Schisandra is a traditional Chinese medicine with a history of over a thousand years. It is named so because it possesses all five flavors. It has high medicinal value and is considered a top-grade Chinese medicine. It can be used as a medicine, brewed into tea, cooked into porridge, and has excellent effects in treating liver diseases!


1. Schisandra Tea

Ingredients: 3-5g of Schisandra, 0.5-1.5g of green tea, 25g of honey.

Method: Stir-fry the Schisandra over low heat until slightly burnt, then brew it with boiling water together with the green tea for 5 minutes. Add honey while hot and mix well. Take 1 dose daily, divided into 3 warm servings.

2. Schisandra Lean Meat Soup

Method: Wash the Ophiopogon japonicus, Codonopsis pilosula, Schisandra, and lean meat. Add the above ingredients to a stewing pot with boiling water and stew over low heat for 1.5 hours. Season with salt and serve.

3. Schisandra Pollen Drink

Ingredients: Schisandra pollen.

Method: Mix Schisandra pollen with honey and drink it with warm water.

4. Schisandra Porridge

Ingredients: 10g of Schisandra, 100g of rice.

Method: Cook the Schisandra and rice together over low heat.
