February 10, 2024

Qingmuxiang and Muxiang may look very similar in name, but they are actually two different types of Chinese medicine. Muxiang has great benefits for the human body, but Qingmuxiang has significant kidney toxicity, so it must be used with caution!

  [Taboos of Qingmuxiang]

  1. Slightly toxic. It is used in folk medicine to treat abdominal pain. In clinical practice, it is also used in small doses to treat stomach and abdominal pain.

Large doses can cause nausea and vomiting. Prolonged use can lead to kidney toxicity.

Therefore, it is rarely used to treat hypertension. The National Medical Products Administration has canceled its medicinal standards.

  2. Not suitable for patients with deficiency and cold.

"Compendium of Materia Medica": "Do not take in large doses, as it will cause continuous vomiting and diarrhea."

"Classic of Herbal Medicine": "For those with lung cold cough, cold phlegm asthma, and stomach deficiency with aversion to food, do not take, as it has an acrid and aromatic nature that can cause erratic movements."
