Orchids are a type of Chinese herbal medicine and a commonly used food supplement. Eating orchids has a strong health benefits for many people. Today, I will specifically introduce the types of orchids.


1. Iron Skin Orchid

The Iron Skin Orchid gets its name from its iron green skin. It is a perennial epiphytic herb of the Orchidaceae family. It prefers semi-shady and moist rocks and tall tree trunks in humid and warm climates, and it cannot tolerate cold temperatures. The Iron Skin Orchid has unique medicinal value, with its stems used for medicine. The tender stems of a few varieties of Iron Skin Orchid are twisted into spiral and spring-like shapes, dried, and sold as "earring orchids" or "maple buckets."

2. Tassel Orchid

The Tassel Orchid, also known as the Whip Orchid, is found in southern Guangxi to northwestern Guangxi, southern Guizhou to southwestern Guizhou, and eastern Yunnan to southwestern Yunnan. It is mainly used as a raw material for medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. It is easy to grow and has fast growth and high yield.

3. Golden Hairpin Orchid

The Golden Hairpin Orchid, also known as the Golden Hairpin Orchid, the Golden Hairpin, the Flat Yellow Grass, or the Flat Grass, is a perennial herb. It has multiple stems that are slightly flat and slightly curved, reaching a height of 10-60 cm and a thickness of 1.3 cm. It has the effects of nourishing Yin, clearing heat, nourishing fluids, and relieving thirst.

4. Ball-flower Orchid

The Ball-flower Orchid gets its name from the shape of its flowers. The stems are erect or oblique, cylindrical, stout, 12-46 cm long, and 7-16 mm thick. There are no branches between the stem joints, which are narrow and cylindrical.
