Traditional Chinese Medicine: The Healing Power of Purple Bead Leaves

  Purple bead leaves, also known as hemostatic grass, are a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine for stopping bleeding. It can be used externally or internally and can alleviate various bleeding symptoms. Additionally, it can also help disperse stasis and reduce swelling.
 


 

  1. Treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding

  Take 3-5 parts of dried purple bead leaf powder. Mix with cold water and take every four hours. Then, take 2 qian of purple bead leaf powder, boil with water, and drink it as tea. This treatment can help treat gastrointestinal bleeding and prevent various symptoms caused by gastrointestinal diseases.

  2. Treatment of hemoptysis

  Take 5-7 parts of dried purple bead leaf powder. Mix with egg white and take every four hours. Then, take 2 qian of dried purple bead leaf powder, boil with water, and drink it as tea. Scientific use of this method can keep hemoptysis away from our bodies.

  3. Treatment of epistaxis

  Take 2 qian of dried purple bead leaf. Mix with egg white and take it internally. Also, use cotton dipped in leaf powder for nasal packing.


 

  4. Treatment of bleeding wounds

  Take fresh purple bead leaves, wash them with cold water, crush them, and apply them to the wound. Alternatively, use dried purple bead leaf powder and apply it as a poultice. Then, wrap it with disinfectant gauze. This prescription is widely used in Fujian, China and has very good effects.

  Tips:

  Purple bead leaves can be used fresh or dried in daily life. Both methods use purple bead leaves and there is no significant difference in their medicinal properties.

  Purple bead leaves are usually harvested in summer and autumn. However, the dosage of purple bead leaves needs to be carefully controlled, between 15g and 30g.

  If the dosage is too small, the medicinal effect may not be exerted, while excessive dosage may cause side effects.
