Habitat Distribution of Snow Pig Oil
1. Ecological Environment
(1) Inhabit high altitude alpine meadows at elevations of 2800-5000m.
Dwells in caves and lives in groups. Active during the day and hibernates during winter. Main diet consists of tender stems, leaves, and other plant parts.
(2) Inhabit grasslands and meadows at elevations of 2500-3500m. Prefers humid environments. Lives in caves with mounds of soil, known as marmot burrows. Feeds on plants.
(3) Inhabit areas where geothermal fluctuations occur and grasslands meet deserts. Live in groups. Build burrows on high or sloping terrain, with mounds of soil outside the entrance. Feeds on grass roots and seeds.
(4) This species is one of the representative species in the subalpine grassland zone. Inhabit dense and lush alpine meadows and grasslands. Lives in caves and also prefers to live in groups.
Yellow marmot burrows can be found near the cave entrance. Mainly feeds on plants from the Cyperaceae and Poaceae families.
