Throat Grass grows in grasslands, roadsides, and pastures. Distribution: It is widely distributed, ranging from Hebei in the north to Guangdong and Yunnan in the south, and from Sichuan and Qinghai in the west.

Throat Grass is mainly used to treat sore throat, mouth ulcers, red eyes, blurred vision, headache, toothache, rheumatism, asthma, urinary tract infections, irregular menstruation, abscesses, bruises, and burns.

Throat Grass is an annual herbaceous plant, 8-15 centimeters tall, with a white fine pubescence covering the whole body.

The leaves are arranged in a rosette-like manner, with slender petioles;

The leaf blades are nearly circular, about 15 millimeters in diameter, with a slightly heart-shaped base and a rounded toothed edge. The upper surface is green, sometimes with purple-red color in some areas.

The flower stems emerge from the rosette, 3-7 branches, and the top has 5-7 umbel-like pedicels arranged in an umbel inflorescence;

The calyx is green, deeply divided into 5 lobes, and persistent; the corolla is white, with the lower part fused into a short tubular shape, and the upper part 5-lobed and spreading outward; there are 5 stamens; the ovary is spherical, with an inconspicuous style.

The capsule is spherical, with a diameter of 2-3 millimeters, and splits into 5 valves when ripe. There are numerous small, brown seeds. Flowering period is in April, and fruiting period is in May.
