Nephritis Grass: A Medicinal Herb with Bitter and Cold Properties

  Nephritis Grass is an annual herb. The leaves are basal, inverted ovate-elliptic in shape, with serrated edges, and the base extends downwards. Both sides are covered with gray-yellow hairs. The inflorescence is arranged in a spike-like manner, with 3-4 tubular bisexual flowers; the bracts are cylindrical, hard, and very unequal; the receptacles are bare. The fruit has stripes. The seeds have wing-shaped coronal hairs.

  

  Original Form: Inverted ovate leaf rabbit ear wind, an annual herb, 50-80cm tall. The basal leaves are inverted ovate-elliptic in shape, 6-10cm long, 2-4cm wide, with serrated edges, and the base extends downwards. Both sides are covered with gray-yellow hairs. The inflorescence is arranged in a spike-like manner, with 3-4 tubular bisexual flowers; the bracts are cylindrical, hard, and very unequal; the receptacles are bare. The fruit has stripes. The seeds have wing-shaped coronal hairs.

  Ecological Environment: It grows on slopes, grasslands, and roadsides.

  Distribution: It is distributed in Yunnan.

  Properties and Taste: Slightly bitter in taste; cold in nature.

  Usage and Dosage: Internal use: decoction, 30-60g. External use: appropriate amount, sprinkle the powder.
