Application of Da Wei Yao Prescription


Da Wei Yao

  1. Treatment of boils, scabies and abdominal pain

  Fresh whole plant of Da Wei Yao, 1-2 liang. Decoction and take orally.

  2. Treatment of pneumonia, lung abscess, and empyema

  Fresh whole plant of Da Wei Yao, 2 liang. Decoction, mix with honey and take orally; or crush 2-4 liang of fresh whole plant into juice, mix with honey and take orally.

  3. Treatment of testicular swelling and pain

  Fresh root of Da Wei Yao, 2 liang. Decoction and take orally.

  4. Treatment of infantile convulsions

  Dry root of Da Wei Yao, 4 qian; dry yellow bile herb, 3 qian; add a little salt, stew with water and take orally.

  5. Treatment of oral ulcers

  Crush fresh leaves of Da Wei Yao, squeeze out the juice and gargle with it, 4-6 times a day.

  6. Treatment of abscesses and boils

  Fresh root of Da Wei Yao, 2 liang, a little salt, decoction and take orally; take fresh leaves, mash with leftover rice and apply as a poultice. (Selected from "Fujian Chinese Herbal Medicine")

  【Precautions】 "Nanning Pharmacopoeia": Pregnant women should not take it.

Dosage and Usage of Da Wei Yao

  Oral administration: Decoction, 1-2 liang of fresh plant; or juice mixed with honey and taken orally.

  External use: Decoction for washing or juice for gargling.
