【Efficacy and Function of Da Wei Yao】
Traditional Chinese medicine believes that Da Wei Yao has the effects of clearing heat, detoxifying, and diuresis. It is commonly used for pneumonia, empyema, sore throat, oral ulcers, bladder stones, and abscesses.
1. "Fujian Folk Medicinal Plants": "Diuretic, clearing heat, resolving abscesses, and detoxifying. Used to treat fever, rash, pneumonia, and empyema."

【Compatibility and Application of Da Wei Yao】
1. For pneumonia, lung abscess, empyema: Use 100g of fresh Da Wei Yao whole plant. Boil and mix with honey for consumption; or crush and squeeze 100-200g of fresh whole plant, mix with honey for consumption.
2. For abdominal pain due to skin lesions: Use 50-100g of fresh Da Wei Yao whole plant. Boil and consume as a soup.
3. For testicular swelling and pain: Use 100g of fresh Da Wei Yao root. Boil in water and consume.
4. For infantile convulsions: Use 12g of dried Da Wei Yao root, 9g of dried Huang Dan Cao. Add a little salt and simmer in water for consumption.
5. For oral ulcers: Crush and squeeze the fresh leaves of Da Wei Yao, use the juice for gargling, 4-6 times a day.
6. For abscesses: Use 100g of fresh Da Wei Yao root, add a little salt. Boil and consume; also take fresh leaves, crush with cold rice and apply as a poultice.

【Clinical Application of Da Wei Yao】
Treatment of abscesses:
Take 60g of dried Da Wei Yao and chop it into pieces, add 1000ml of water, simmer until it reduces to 500ml. Take 20ml each time, 3 times a day after meals. Reduce dosage for children.
In the treatment of 213 cases, 37 cases were cured within 1-3 days, 96 cases within 4-5 days, 52 cases within 6-10 days, and 28 cases took more than 10 days to recover.
Preliminary observations show that it is effective in the early stage, suppurative stage, and tissue necrosis stage of abscesses. It is more effective when used in the early stage.
