Carp Head with Medicinal Herbs: A Nourishing and Therapeutic Delicacy

    [Ingredients]
10 grams of Gastrodia, 10 grams of Atractylodes, 20 grams of Poria, 500 grams of fresh carp head, 25 milliliters of sesame oil, 20 milliliters of cooking wine, 10 grams of green onion, 3 grams of salt, 1 gram of monosodium glutamate.
    [Preparation]
Remove the scales and gills from the fresh carp head, cut it in half, rinse it clean, and place it in a bowl. Wash the Poria, soak the Atractylodes in rice wash water and slice it, soak the Gastrodia in ginger juice and slice it. Put the Atractylodes, Gastrodia, and Poria separately into the fish head, then add cooking wine and green onion. Steam for 30 minutes, then add monosodium glutamate.

   [Precautions]
    (1) Poria should not be consumed with vinegar and acidic substances, as organic acids can weaken its medicinal effects.
    (2) Poria should not be consumed by individuals with oral mucosal diseases, as it may worsen oral ulcer symptoms.
    (3) Poria should not be consumed by individuals with bacterial dysentery.
    (4) Carp should not be consumed when taking Chinese herbs such as Ophiopogon, Ophiopogon, Perilla seed, Dragon bone, and Cinnabar, as it may affect the efficacy of the herbs.
    (5) Carp should not be consumed with dog meat at the same time, as they have different nutritional functions and should not be cooked together.
    (6) Carp should not be consumed with pickled vegetables at the same time, as long-term consumption may promote the occurrence of gastrointestinal tumors.
    (7) Gastrodia has antihypertensive, anti-convulsant, and sedative effects. When used in combination with central nervous system stimulants such as methylphenidate (Ritalin) and nicotine, it may produce pharmacological antagonism and reduce the therapeutic effect.
    (8) Gastrodia should not be consumed with caffeine, as it may produce pharmacological antagonism and reduce the therapeutic effect.
    (9) There are often counterfeit Gastrodia products, so be careful to distinguish them from potatoes, purple jasmine, and chrysanthemum.
    (10) Atractylodes should not be consumed with sparrow meat or catfish, as certain components in sparrow meat or catfish may have adverse reactions and be harmful to the human body or reduce the efficacy of Atractylodes.
    (11) Atractylodes should not be consumed with peaches, plums, cabbage, pennywort, or garlic, as they have incompatible flavors and should not be used together.
    (12) Once a week, 7 doses are considered one course of treatment.
