January 30, 2024

Thlaspi arvense, also known as inkweed, jinling grass, or lotus seed grass, is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine for nourishing the liver and kidneys, cooling the blood, and stopping bleeding. It has good therapeutic effects on symptoms such as dizziness and loose teeth caused by liver and kidney yin deficiency.

  1. Stop bleeding

When we pick inkweed, if we break its stems, a juice will flow out from the stem. This juice will turn into ink-like liquid after a while, hence the name inkweed.

Do not underestimate the ink-like liquid from inkweed. It is not only non-toxic but can also stop bleeding. Just break a bundle of inkweed, rub its juice, and apply the ink on the wound. After a short while, the bleeding will miraculously stop.

  2. Promote hair growth and darken hair

Another function of inkweed is to solve the urgent need for hair growth. It not only promotes hair growth but also makes your hair darker and more beautiful. This is because inkweed can nourish the kidneys and replenish yin, thus promoting hair growth and darkening.

After washing the inkweed thoroughly, mash it and squeeze out the juice. Apply the juice evenly on the sides of the eyebrows or areas with thin hair on the head. Place your fingers on the applied area and gently massage to help the medicinal properties penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. It has a good therapeutic effect on sparse eyebrows and hair loss.

  3. Relieve gum inflammation and pain

Sun-dry the inkweed and grind it into powder in a mortar. When brushing your teeth, you can add inkweed powder to the toothpaste and brush together. It has great effects in treating gum inflammation and loose teeth.
