Dried Astragalus: It has the effects of nourishing yin, clearing heat, cooling blood, and replenishing blood. It is used for heat-related symptoms such as fever and thirst, internal heat and diabetes, bone steaming and fatigue heat, eruptive febrile diseases, hemoptysis caused by blood heat, nosebleeds, abnormal uterine bleeding, urinary blood, bloody stools, blood deficiency with withered and yellow appearance, dizziness, palpitations, and scanty menstruation caused by blood deficiency.
Donkey-hide Gelatin: It replenishes blood, stops bleeding, nourishes yin, and moisturizes dryness. It is mainly used for blood deficiency syndrome, consumptive cough with blood-streaked sputum, hemoptysis, urinary blood, bloody stools, dysentery, bleeding during pregnancy, abnormal uterine bleeding, insomnia and restlessness due to yin deficiency, cough due to lung deficiency, and convulsions and spasms caused by wind and internal movement due to deficiency.
Calamus: Sweet and neutral in nature. It enters the liver and pericardium meridians. It has the functions of stopping bleeding, transforming stasis, and promoting urination. It is commonly used to treat hemoptysis, nosebleeds, spitting blood, abnormal uterine bleeding, external bleeding, promoting menstruation, chest and abdominal pain, swelling and pain from falls or blows, blood in urine with painful urination.
