How should we consume ginseng for the best nourishing effect?

Ginseng is not a temporary "stimulant", but can maintain the body in a balanced and normal state, promoting and regulating the health of various parts of the body. Ginseng can be consumed in small amounts every day, generally 1 gram to 3 grams, which will not cause excessive internal heat.

Especially for those who are often tired, weak, and suffer from long-term insomnia and forgetfulness, it is recommended to regularly consume small amounts of ginseng. Ginseng can be chewed, ground into powder, brewed into tea, or used to make alcohol. It can also be stewed with lean meat, chicken, fish, etc. However, those who have a strong constitution and tend to be irritable and easily get angry should try to avoid consuming ginseng.

So, how much ginseng should be consumed daily? Fresh ginseng and dried ginseng are different, cultivated ginseng and wild ginseng are different, weak individuals and strong individuals are different, elderly people and young people are different, nourishing and treating diseases are different, mild cases and severe cases are different, and consuming ginseng once and consuming it daily are different.

The dosage of pure wild ginseng is much smaller than that of cultivated ginseng. Adults should not consume more than 0.3 grams of dried wild ginseng per day. If regularly consuming wild ginseng, the dosage should be even less, generally around 0.1 grams. This can be flexibly adjusted according to individual physical conditions and different diseases. For example, people from the southern part of China often consume ginseng and as long as the dosage is not exceeded, they generally will not experience adverse effects. On the other hand, even with the same dosage as people from the southern part of China, some people from the northeastern part of China might experience adverse effects.

In specific terms, if people from the southern part of China consume 1.5 grams of ginseng per person per time, people from the northeastern part of China can consume 1 gram per person per time. It can be taken twice a day, or three times a day during winter. If using ginseng to brew water, it can be consumed several times a day, but in summer, it should not exceed 3 grams per person per day, and in winter, it should not exceed 5 grams per person per day.
