  Medical Uses of Fei Xing Cao

  This herb is mainly used for medicinal purposes, and only the tender grass is useful. The elderly say that only the tender grass of Fei Xing Cao has medicinal value, while mature Fei Xing Cao is almost useless in terms of medicinal effects.

  In folk medicine, Fei Xing Cao is used to treat common lung diseases such as lung heat cough, pulmonary tuberculosis with hemoptysis, and lung abscess.

  How to Use Fei Xing Cao

  For treating hemoptysis caused by exertion: Take five to six qian (fresh ones should be doubled in amount) of Fei Xing Cao and one or two liang of rock sugar. Decoct in water and take orally.

  For treating nephritis: Take four qian of Fei Xing Cao, five qian of Deng Xin Cao, and one or two liang of corn root. Decoct in water and take orally once a day.

  Methods of Consuming Fei Xing Cao

  Usual method: Decoct in water and take orally, 10-20g (fresh ones 50-100g). Can also be used externally as a poultice.
