Functions and Indications of Chishang Powder

    Clears heat and detoxifies; activates blood circulation and relaxes tendons. Used for dysentery, diarrhea, excessive white or red vaginal discharge, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, breast abscess, carbuncle and furuncle, unknown swelling and toxicity, snake bites, bruises and injuries, and lower back pain caused by overexertion.

    1. Treatment of dysentery:

    Take 1-2 liang of Chishang Powder, decoct in water, and take orally.

    2. Treatment of abdominal pain:

    Take 5 qian of Chishang Powder, 1 qian of Muxiang (Aucklandia lappa), decoct in water, and take orally.

    3. Treatment of excessive white or red vaginal discharge:

    Take 6 qian of Chishang Powder, 3 qian of pine wood pulp, and 3 qian of sandalwood pulp, decoct in water, and take orally. Add white sugar for white discharge, and add rock sugar, rose petals, and gelatin for red discharge.

    4. Treatment of abscesses:

    Grind a piece of Chishang Powder into a paste and apply it topically.

    5. Treatment of bruises and injuries:

    6. Treatment of mastitis:

    Grind the whole plant of Chishang Powder or yams and wild buckwheat into a paste, and apply it externally with wine lees. ("Practical Selection of Chinese Herbal Medicine in Guangxi")

Habitat Distribution of Chishang Powder

    1. Ecological Environment:

    (1) It grows in shady areas such as roadsides, ditches, and grasslands, or it can be cultivated.

    (2) It grows in mountain slopes below 3000 meters above sea level, as well as in valley grasslands.

    2. Distribution:

    (1) It is distributed in southwest China, as well as in Shaanxi, Gansu, Taiwan, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, and Tibet.
