Planting Methods of Dingding Grass

1. Dingding grass is propagated by seeds, with about 3 to 4 kilograms of seeds per acre. It is usually intercropped with gramineous plants.

During the period between Xiaoshu and Dashu, after corn and other gramineous plants have been ridged, shallow hoe the ground between rows, evenly spread the seeds between rows, push with a large hoe to bury the seeds tightly, water them, and keep the bed surface moist. The seeds will germinate in about 30 days.

2. After the seedlings of Dingding grass have emerged, they should be watered frequently and properly managed. When the autumn crops are ripe for harvest, be careful not to bury the Dingding seedlings.

Before freezing, water with freezing water and apply circle manure. After the thaw in the following spring, crush the manure blocks and level the ground.

From Qingming to Guyu, when the new leaves have not yet covered the ground, apply 10-15 kilograms of urea per acre, and water after application. Stop watering after Lixia to prevent stems and leaves from rotting and reduce yield.

3. Around the time of Jingzhe, when the young seedlings of Dingding grass turn green, there is often a black caterpillar of Lepidoptera that bites the tender buds and causes great damage.

It can be sprayed and killed with 500-1000 times dilution of Bacillus thuringiensis (strain No. 3), or 2500 grams of bacterial powder mixed with 15-25 kilograms of fine soil per acre to make a toxic soil for field application.

Amazing Uses of Dingding Grass

Dingding grass works better when soaked together with honeysuckle or dandelion. The combination of the two enhances the medicinal effect, not only clearing heat and detoxifying, but also relieving gum and throat swelling and pain.
