Acid Vine Wood characteristics: The leaves are often curled and become inverted-ovate to elliptic shape after being flattened, measuring 3-5.5cm in length and 1-2.5cm in width. The apex is obtuse or slightly concave, and the base is wedge-shaped with smooth edges. The lateral veins are not prominent.
The petiole is short, measuring 5-3mm in length. Sometimes, small branches can be seen, which are cylindrical and vary in length, with a purplish-brown color. It has a slight aroma and sour taste.
Microscopic identification of Acid Vine Wood leaf transverse section: The upper epidermal cells are larger in size and have various shapes, with thickened and keratinized outer walls.
The lower epidermal cells are smaller, ranging from circular to flattened square in shape, with thickened and keratinized outer walls.
The palisade tissue consists of 1-2 rows of cells of varying lengths, passing through the midrib. The vascular bundle is collateral, surrounded by fiber bundles.
