[Methods of Consuming Bai Shao Yao]

1. Stewed Pork Elbow with Bai Shao Yao

Ingredients: 25g Bai Shao Yao, 500g pork elbow, 5ml cooking wine, appropriate amount of salt, monosodium glutamate, ginger slices, and scallion.

Method: Cook the above ingredients in a pot until well stewed.

Effect: Promotes blood circulation, cools the blood, reduces swelling and pain, nourishes the liver and blood. It is effective in treating irregular menstruation, excessive menstrual flow, and hot flashes due to yin deficiency.

2. White Peony and Jujube Congee

Ingredients: 150g glutinous rice, 30g jujube, 20g Bai Shao Yao, 25g wheat, 15g honey.

Method: Put the wheat and Bai Shao Yao in a cheesecloth bag and boil for 30 minutes. Remove the bag and add the jujube and glutinous rice to the pot and cook until soft. Stir in honey.

Effect: Nourishes the blood, benefits the kidneys, strengthens the spleen and stomach. It is suitable for post-illness weakness, liver cirrhosis, blood deficiency in women, and cardiovascular disease patients.
