Boosting the Immune System with Traditional Chinese Medicine Recipes

1. Huangqi Dangshen Wujitang (Astragalus and Codonopsis Chicken Soup)

Ingredients: 10g Astragalus, 15g Codonopsis, 250g black-bone chicken, 6 red dates, 3g goji berries, 2 slices of ginger, olive oil, salt, cooking wine (as needed).

Method:

1. Prepare all the ingredients. Soak the Astragalus and Codonopsis in a bowl of water. Rinse the red dates.

2. Bring a pot of water to a boil, add a few drops of cooking wine and a slice of ginger, and blanch the black-bone chicken to remove any blood.

3. Remove the chicken from the water and transfer it to a stewing pot. Add mineral water, Astragalus, Codonopsis, red dates, a small piece of ginger, and a little olive oil.

4. Cover the pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat and simmer for 1.5-2 hours.

5. Open the pot, add goji berries and salt. Let it cook for another two minutes, then it can be served in a bowl.

1. Astragalus: tonifies qi, dispels dampness, and eliminates edema.

2. Yiner Zhugan Tang (Tremella and Pig Liver Soup)

Ingredients: 10g Tremella, 50g pig liver, 50g baby bok choy, spring onion, ginger, cornstarch, salt, soy sauce (as needed), 1 egg.

Method:

1. Soak the Tremella in warm water until it expands. Remove the stem and tear it into pieces.

2. Rinse the pig liver and slice it thinly. Wash the baby bok choy and cut it into 5cm pieces. Slice the ginger and cut the spring onion into sections.

3. Place the pig liver in a bowl and add cornstarch, salt, and soy sauce. Crack the egg into the bowl and mix well.

4. Heat a clay pot, add oil and heat it to 60% hot. Add the ginger and spring onion and stir-fry until fragrant. Add 300ml of water.

5. Once the water is boiling, add the Tremella and pig liver, and cook for 10 minutes.
