Controlling Diabetes with Dietary Therapy: Recipes for Blood Sugar Management

  As the saying goes, "A gentleman settles things with words, not fists." When it comes to dealing with diabetes, a stubborn disease, it can be easily "eaten" away with some dietary therapy methods. This is not a joke, as dietary therapy can control blood sugar and blood lipids, prevent and delay the occurrence and development of complications, and improve the body's sensitivity to insulin.   1. Bitter melon stir-fried tofu

  Ingredients: 150g bitter melon, 100g water tofu, vegetable oil, salt.

  Method: Remove the seeds from the bitter melon and slice thinly. Stir-fry in a pan until 80% cooked, then add tofu and salt, and cook until fully cooked. Serve.

  Ingredients: 60-120g fresh spinach roots, 15g dried chicken internal gold.

  Method: Decoction and take orally. Divide into 2-3 doses.

  3. Pea dish

  Ingredients: Appropriate amount of peas.

  Method: Cook and eat a suitable amount of peas daily. Persist for a long time to see results.

  4. Freshwater snail water

  Ingredients: Hundreds of freshwater snails.

  Method: Keep the freshwater snails in clean water to expel dirt, then soak them in fresh water overnight. Boil the water daily and drink it, or cook the snails and drink the broth.

  Effect: Clears heat, diuresis, and relieves irritability and thirst. Suitable for diabetes with excessive thirst and constant drinking.

  5. Tea steamed carp

  Ingredients: 500g carp, green tea.

  Method: Kill the carp, remove the gills and internal organs, keep the scales, wash it clean, fill the fish belly with green tea, steam until cooked. Do not add any seasoning, eat it plain. Take one serving daily.

  Effect: Invigorates the spleen, supplements qi, clears heat, and diuresis. Suitable for diabetes with excessive thirst and constant drinking.
 


 

  6. Chinese yam porridge

  Ingredients: 60g Chinese yam, 60g polished rice, butter.

  Method: Cook porridge with polished rice and water. Peel the Chinese yam, mash it with butter to make a paste, and mix it well with the porridge. It can be eaten as breakfast.

  Effect: Moistens the lungs, strengthens the spleen, supplements qi, and stabilizes essence. Suitable for spleen and kidney qi deficiency, lumbago and fatigue, loose stools, and easy hunger.

  7. Kudzu root powder porridge

  Ingredients: 30g kudzu root, 50g polished rice.

  Method: Slice the kudzu root, grind it with water to extract the starch. Soak the polished rice overnight, then cook it with the kudzu root powder in water (500ml) over low heat until thickened. Serve.

  Effect: Clears heat, relieves irritability, generates fluid, and relieves thirst. Modern pharmacological research has proven that kudzu root can lower blood sugar and dilate cardiovascular and cerebrovascular vessels, with a mild antihypertensive effect.

  These recipes are specifically prepared for diabetic patients. Each ingredient in the recipes has different effects and is beneficial for blood sugar control. However, different diabetic patients have different symptoms, so the dietary therapy may vary.
