 Menorrhagia refers to excessive menstrual flow in women, with a normal menstrual blood volume of 20-60 milliliters. Traditional Chinese medicine uses water decoction of Bamboo Leaf Ginseng to treat menorrhagia.  Rheumatoid arthritis, dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, pulmonary tuberculosis: 3-5 qian of white root. Decocted and taken orally or stewed with chicken. ("Yunnan Traditional Chinese Medicine")

 Bamboo Leaf Ginseng has the effects of clearing heat and detoxifying, relaxing tendons and activating blood circulation. It is mainly used to treat high fever that does not subside, bone steam and hot flashes caused by deficiency syndrome, rheumatism and paralysis, joint and lower back pain, dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, abscesses and sores, injuries and fractures.

  Traditional Chinese medicine recipe: Goji Berry Stewed Lamb

  Ingredients:

  1000 grams of lamb leg meat, 50 grams of goji berries, seasonings as needed.

  Instructions:

  Boil the whole piece of lamb meat in boiling water. Rinse off the blood foam with cold water and cut into pieces. Heat oil in a pot. Add the lamb meat and ginger, and add a little cooking wine. Stir-fry for a while, then add goji berries, clear broth (about 2000 milliliters), salt, and green onion. Bring to a boil, remove the foam, and simmer over low heat for an hour and a half. When the lamb is cooked and tender, it is ready to be eaten with meat and soup.

  Bamboo Leaf Ginseng is also known as Guangdong Bamboo Leaf Ginseng, Mountain Bamboo Flower, Yixianxiang, Bamboo Joint Grass, Jade Bamboo Grass, White Seed Grass, Bamboo Leaf Grass.

  The rhizome is horizontal and hard, with a nodular appearance; the roots are thick and long, fleshy. The stem is 50-150 cm tall, with a diameter of about 1 cm, and has more forked branches in the upper part.

  The leaves are papery, lanceolate to narrowly elliptic-lanceolate, 5-12 cm long, 1-5 cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, and near circular at the base, with obvious 3-7 veins, with papillate projections on the lower veins and edges, and short petioles.

  Umbellate inflorescences with 3-10 flowers are borne on short branches opposite to the upper leaves; flower stalks are long (1-)2-4 cm, slightly rough; flowers are purple; corolla lobes are oblique and lanceolate, 1.5-2.8 cm long, 4-5 mm wide, pointed at the apex, with papillate projections on the edges, and a distance of 2-3 mm at the base; stamens are hidden inside, anthers are 3-4 mm long, filaments are 8-11 mm long; ovaries are about 3 mm long, pistils and stigmas are 3-4 times longer than the ovaries.

  The berries are 8-10 mm in diameter and have 2-3(-5) seeds. The seeds are dark brown and about 5 mm in diameter. Flowering period is from May to July, and fruiting period is from August to October.
