Distinguishing between Bai Fuzi and Bai Fupian
1. Bai Fuzi
Belongs to the phlegm-resolving medicine. It can be divided into Yu Bai Fuzi and Guan Bai Fuzi.
The former is the tuber of the plant Arisaema Amurense, with a white or yellow-white surface;
The latter is the rhizome of the plant Aconitum kusnezoffii, with a brownish surface but a white appearance when cut, but they have similar functions.
It has a spicy and sweet taste, warm in nature, and has the effects of dispelling wind-phlegm, drying damp-phlegm, relieving pain and spasms, and detoxification and dispersing nodules. It is mainly used for stroke with facial and eye deviation, epilepsy, tetanus, tetanus, migraine, and other conditions such as scrofula and snake bites.
However, this medicine is also spicy, warm, dry, and toxic. It needs to be processed before use. It is not suitable for those with yin deficiency, blood deficiency and wind movement, and extreme heat and wind movement. Pregnant women should use it with caution.

2. Bai Fupian
Belongs to the warming interior medicine, it is the processed product of the rhizome of Aconitum kusnezoffii.
Select evenly sized mud Fuzi, wash it, soak it in a solution of edible gall bile for several days, then take it out, cook it with the solution until it is thoroughly cooked, remove it, peel off the skin, cut it into thin slices about 3 mm thick, soak it in water to remove impurities, steam it until cooked, and then dry it.
It is named because it is all white and translucent.
It has a spicy and sweet taste, hot in nature, and has the effects of restoring yang and rescuing collapse, assisting yang and replenishing fire, dispelling cold and relieving pain. It is mainly used for conditions such as loss of yang, severe cold and pain, impotence caused by yang deficiency, cold uterus and infertility, cold and pain in the epigastric region, diarrhea, and edema. It is often used for emergency treatment and is known as the "first medicine for restoring yang and rescuing collapse".
However, this medicine is spicy, hot, dry, and toxic. It needs to be strictly processed and has strict indications. It is not suitable for those with yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity and pregnant women. It should not be used with Banxia, Gualoupi, Beimu, Baijian, and Baiji.
