Tianpengcao: Traditional Chinese Medicine for Dispelling Wind and Promoting Blood Circulation

  [The Efficacy of Tianpengcao]

  Alias: Xuelihua, Hancao, Jinxiandiaohulu, Xuelikaihua, Xiaohongniang, Manshuicao, Wenjicao, Eergan, Lanyicen, Masicai, Huangguacao.

  Internal use: Decoction, 30-60g.

  External use: Appropriate amount, pounded and applied; or ground into powder and applied.

  Processing: Harvested from spring to early autumn, wash and use fresh or sun-dry.

  Effects: Dispels wind and dampness, promotes blood circulation and reduces swelling, detoxification, and stops bleeding.

  Indications: Used for common cold, diarrhea, dysentery, rheumatism, bone pain, contusions, fractures, carbuncle and swelling, hemorrhoids, snake bites, vomiting blood, epistaxis, external bleeding.

  [The Usage of Tianpengcao]

  1. Treatment for common cold: 60g Tianpengcao, 15g brown sugar. Decoction, take twice a day, cover yourself with a blanket after taking the medicine to induce slight sweating.

  2. Treatment for infant diarrhea: 30g Tianpengcao, 60g Portulaca oleracea. Decoction and take orally.

  3. Treatment for cold dysentery: 60g Tianpengcao. Decoction, take twice a day.

  4. Treatment for contusions: 30g Tianpengcao, 60-120g rice wine. Add water, decoct, and take orally.

  5. Treatment for snake bites: 30-60g Tianpengcao. Decoction and take orally. Take another handful, wash and pound it into a paste, and apply it to the wound.
