【Introduction】
Danggui Buxuetang is a formula created by Li Dongyuan in the Jin and Yuan dynasties. It consists of two medicinal herbs, Huangqi and Danggui, in a ratio of 5:1. It has the effect of nourishing Qi and promoting blood circulation, and is commonly used to treat fatigue, internal injuries, Qi and blood deficiency, and external heat caused by Yang deficiency. It is widely used. In recent years, there has been a lot of research on the proportion and effective components of Danggui Buxuetang, and many scholars are devoted to exploring the experimental research on the inherent relationship between different proportions and their material basis and efficacy. With the infiltration of modern medical scientific technology, it has been found to have the functions of promoting hematopoiesis, regulating immune function, and protecting cardiovascular and cerebrovascular systems, providing scientific experimental basis for the use of Danggui Buxuetang in various reasons such as anemia and other hematological diseases, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular systems, and tumors. 【Preparation of Danggui Buxuetang】
Ingredients:
Main ingredients: Danggui, Huangqi
Auxiliary ingredients: Red dates, quail eggs
Seasoning: A little sugar
Instructions:
1. Prepare the ingredients.
2. Wash the red dates and remove the pits.
3. Soak the Huangqi and Danggui in water for 5 minutes, then rinse with clean water.
4. Boil the quail eggs in water until cooked.
5. Peel the eggs.
6. Pour all the ingredients except the eggs into a pot and add an appropriate amount of water.
7. Boil over high heat, then reduce to medium-low heat, simmer for 10 minutes. Add the eggs and continue to simmer for another 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it steep for 10 minutes.

【Clinical Applications】
1. Leukopenia: Use this formula with Sanling 15g, Gancao 10g, decocted and taken once a day. Treat 40 cases of leukopenia. The patients were randomly divided into two groups, with 20 cases in each group. The treatment group took the prescribed medicine, and the control group took Lixuesheng 20mg three times a day. Both groups took the medicine for 14-21 days. Results: In the treatment group, 8 cases were effectively cured (white blood cell count above 4000/mm3 for 3 consecutive weeks, clinical symptoms disappeared); 11 cases were effective (white blood cell count above 4000/mm3, clinical symptoms improved); 1 case was ineffective; the total effective rate was 95%. In the control group, 1 case was effectively cured, 10 cases were effective, and 9 cases were ineffective, with a total effective rate of 55%. The treatment group had a significantly better effect than the control group. The ineffective cases in the control group were treated with this formula again, and the clinical efficacy was improved.
2. Primary idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura: Use this formula with Xueyu Tan 30g, Sheng Gancao 15g as the basic formula. For Qi deficiency, add Dangshen, Baizhu, Huangjing; for blood deficiency, add Shudi, Ejiao, Gouqizi; for Yin deficiency, add Shengdi, Maidong, Wuzi; for Kidney Yang deficiency, add Tusizi, Buguzhi, Lujiaojiao, Bajitian; for Stomach heat, add Shigao, Zhimu, Chuanjun, Chuanlian; for blood heat, add Danpi, Chishao, Zicao, Lingyangjiao; for infection, add Yinhuahua, Lianqiao, Pugongying, Baojiangcao, Daqingye, etc. Take once a day, twice a day for severe cases. Treat 24 cases of primary idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. Results: All cases were effective.
3. Bi Syndrome: Use this formula with Danggui 25g, Huangqi 35g, Guizhi 15g, Haifengteng 10g, Qinjiao 10g, Zhichuanwu 6g. For pain, add Xixin 3g; for fixed pain, add Fangji 8g, Yiyiren 30g; for wandering pain, add Fangfeng 9g, Qianghuo 8g; for heat pain, remove Chuanwu and Haifengteng, add Zhimu 10g, Shigao 30g, Rendonghua 20g. Take once a day, 10 days as one course. Treat 51 cases of Bi Syndrome, results: 36 cases were cured (joint swelling and pain disappeared, numbness disappeared, normal movement); 10 cases were improved (joint swelling and pain basically disappeared, but mild restriction of movement); 5 cases were ineffective. The shortest treatment period was 10 days, and the longest was 45 days. This formula is particularly effective for pain and fixed pain, and slightly less effective for heat pain.
4. Plantar Fasciitis: Use this formula with Duzhong, Chuanduan, Gouji as the main formula. For liver and kidney yin deficiency, add Shudi, Xuanshen, Qizi, Maidong, etc.; for spleen and kidney yang deficiency, add Rougui, Fuzi, Tusizi, Buguzhi, etc. Treat 30 cases of plantar fasciitis, results: 18 cases were significantly effective, 9 cases were improved, 3 cases were relieved, all cases were effective. The minimum dosage used was 14 doses, and the maximum was 60 doses.
5. Uterine Hypoplasia-Related Amenorrhea: Use this formula with Danggui 30g, Huangqi 50g, E Zhu 15g, Sanling 15g, Danshen 15g, Yuanyuehong 15g, decocted and taken once a day, 3 months as one course, observe the efficacy after 2 courses. Treat 37 cases of uterine hypoplasia-related amenorrhea, aged 21-34, average age 27.5; onset age 15-22; delayed menstruation in 31 cases; 6 married, 31 unmarried; disease duration 8 months to 9 years, more than 5 years in 22 cases. Results: 23 cases were significantly effective (menstruation during treatment, but basal body temperature was biphasic, or vaginal exfoliated cells improved without periodic changes, or pregnancy occurred); 11 cases were effective (menstruation during treatment, but basal body temperature was monophasic, or vaginal exfoliated cells showed periodic changes); 3 cases were ineffective (no menstruation during treatment, or no obvious improvement in vaginal smears); the total effective rate was 91.88%.
6. Menopausal Syndrome: Use this formula with Yejiaoteng 30g, Sangye 12g, Huoturen 10g, Sanqi 6g as the basic formula. For Qi and blood deficiency, add Shudi, Baishao; for liver and kidney yin deficiency, add Gouqizi, Danpi; for spleen and kidney yang deficiency, add Fuzi, Shanyao, Baizhu; for heart and kidney ineffectiveness, add Danshen, Zaoziren, Huangbo. Treat 79 cases of menopausal syndrome. Results: 61 cases were cured (all clinical symptoms disappeared, no recurrence at the end of follow-up); 18 cases were not cured.
7. Uterine Fibroids: Use this formula with Huangqi 20-30g, Danggui 6-9g, Cha Rou 10g, Sanling 6g, Guizhi 5g, Danpi 9g. If blood deficiency, add Ajiao, Jixieteng; if Yin deficiency, add Shengmai San; if liver and kidney yin deficiency, add Gouqizi, Dihuang, Mudanpi; if spleen and kidney yang deficiency, add Fuzi, Yizhiren, Shanyao; if kidney yang deficiency, add Chuanduan, Bajitian; if excessive bleeding, add Yimucao, Erzhiwan, Wuzeigu. Treat 12 cases of uterine fibroids, results: 6 cases were clinically cured (tumors disappeared, uterus returned to normal size, symptoms disappeared), 5 cases improved, 1 case ineffective.
8. Senile Pruritus: Use this formula with Huangqi 30g, Danggui 10g, Shengshoudi 30g, Zhi Shouwu 15g, Xuanshen 15g, Maidong 10g, Fangfeng 10g, Jingjie 10g, Chanyi 10g, Chuanxiong 10g, Zhigancao 3g. Decoct and take once a day. Treat 156 cases of senile pruritus, 135 males and 21 females, aged 50-84, with a disease duration of 3 months to 12 years. Results: After taking the medicine for 7-21 doses, the itching completely disappeared, the scratch marks and scabs disappeared, the skin became moisturized, and none of the cases had a relapse within six months, accounting for 104 cases, or 67%; the itching basically disappeared, with a small amount of scratch marks on the skin, and no aggravation of itching for six months, accounting for 26 cases, or 17%; the itching was relieved, with scattered scratch marks or dry desquamation on the skin, accounting for 20 cases, or 13%; there was no obvious change in itching and skin changes before and after treatment, accounting for 6 cases, or 4%; the total effective rate was 96%.
9. Gingival Bleeding: Use this formula combined with Wei Laughsan with modifications. For blood deficiency, add Shudi 12g, Baishao 15g; for Qi and Yin deficiency, add Taizishen, Shengdi 15g each, Maidong, Qizi 12g each; for Yang deficiency, add Paojiang 10g, Rougui 6g. Decoct and take once a day. Treat 20 cases of intractable gingival bleeding, results: 16 cases were cured, 4 cases were improved. No recurrence was observed during a follow-up period of 0.5-8 years.
