Large Blackberry

1. Treatment for dysentery

Fresh Large Blackberry root bark 3 liang, fresh Lonicerae Herba root 2 liang, fresh Patriniae Herba root 1 liang. Decoct and take orally, three to four times a day, two small wine cups each time.

2. Treatment for cough with bloody sputum and limb weakness

Fresh Large Blackberry 2 liang, fresh Tribulus terrestris 1 liang, Hemarthria compressa stem 5 qian. Boil with water to make a concentrated decoction, take four times a day, one teacup each time.

3. Treatment for irregular menstruation

Large Blackberry root, Arisaema consanguineum root each 1 liang, Imperata cylindrica root, Lonicera japonica vine each 5 qian. Decoct with water and add red sugar, take three times a day.

4. Treatment for fractures (without broken skin)

Large Blackberry root, wild grape root bark, Radix Adenophorae each in equal amounts. Grind them together, fry with wine until hot, first use manual methods to reset the fracture, then apply the medicine, and then apply a splint, change it once a day.

Native Morphology of Large Blackberry

Large Blackberry is a shrub, 2-3 meters tall. The stem, leaf stalks, and undersides of the leaves are densely covered with yellow hairs and scattered short curved spines.

The leaves are alternate, leathery, nearly circular, with a diameter of 4-12 centimeters. They are palmately 7-9 lobed, with indistinctly 3 lobed apex, rounded, blunt, or pointed, heart-shaped at the base, and irregularly serrated margins.

The upper surface has short soft hairs and small raised bumps, with 5 basal veins and distinct reticulate veins; leaf stalks are 3-6 centimeters long; stipules are lobed.

The inflorescence is a cone-shaped or panicle-like, densely covered with yellow hairs; bracts are elliptical, with incised-like lacerations;

the sepals are ovate, often with multiple apical lacerations, and densely covered with yellow hairs on the outside.

The aggregate fruit is spherical, with a diameter of 1-1.5 centimeters, and red in color. It grows in shrubs along the roadside.

Distributed in Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, and other places.
