Three Herbal Recipes for Kidney Health and Nourishment

   The kidneys are the foundation of our innate health, and we should not forget to take care of them in our daily lives. Taking care of the kidneys is fundamental to maintaining good health. If the kidneys are not in good condition, it can affect our overall well-being. So, how can we take care of our kidneys in our daily lives? Traditional Chinese medicine recommends three herbal recipes for kidney health and nourishment.
 


 

   Nourishing and Nourishing Kidney Herbal Recipes

   1. Lotus Seed and Epimedium Pork Kidney Soup

   Ingredients: 50g Epimedium, 1 pork kidney, 40g lotus seeds, 40g walnuts, ginger (as needed)

   Instructions:

   1. Wash the Epimedium, lotus seeds, and walnuts separately. Clean and prepare the pork kidney, wash the ginger and slice it.

   2. Put all the ingredients into a pot, add an appropriate amount of water, bring it to a boil over high heat, then simmer for 2 hours over low heat.

   3. Add salt to taste.

   Benefits:

   1. Lotus seeds: Nourishes and replenishes deficiencies, tonifies the kidneys, calms the mind, strengthens the bones and muscles, lowers blood pressure, and has anti-cancer properties.

   2. Epimedium: Nourishes and tonifies the kidneys, warms the spleen, stops diarrhea, and can treat skin diseases such as psoriasis.

   3. Pork kidney: Regulates kidney qi, clears the bladder, removes stagnation, and relieves thirst.

   4. Lotus Seed and Epimedium Pork Kidney Soup: This soup nourishes and replenishes the kidneys, strengthens essence, and promotes beauty.
 


 

   2. Chinese Chive Seed and Goji Berry Porridge

   Ingredients: 80g rice, Chinese chive seeds (as needed), goji berries (as needed), white sugar

   Instructions:

   1. Wash the rice and soak it in cold water to soften.

   2. Put the pot on the stove, add water, and then add the rice. Cook over high heat until the rice grains blossom.

   3. Add the Chinese chive seeds and goji berries, and cook until the porridge becomes thick. Add white sugar and mix well. Garnish with scallions.

   Benefits:

   1. Rice: Tonifies the middle, benefits the qi, nourishes the spleen and stomach, harmonizes the five organs, opens the four channels, and stops irritability, thirst, and diarrhea.

   2. Chinese chive seeds: Nourishes and replenishes the kidneys, strengthens yang, warms the waist and knees.

   3. Goji berries: Tonifies blood, nourishes the liver, improves vision, nourishes the kidneys, and moistens the lungs.

   4. Chinese Chive Seed and Goji Berry Porridge: This porridge nourishes the liver and kidneys, strengthens yang, improves vision, and warms the waist and knees.
 


 

   3. Chinese Chive Stir-Fried Shrimp

   Ingredients: 150g Chinese chives, 200g shrimp, 5g garlic, 3g salt, 2g MSG

   Instructions:

   1. Wash the Chinese chives and cut them into sections. Prepare the shrimp by removing the shells and veins. Chop the garlic into a paste.

   2. Bring water to a boil in a pot, stir-fry the Chinese chives and shrimp separately, then remove them from the pot.

   3. Put the Chinese chives and shrimp into a bowl, add the seasoning, and mix well.

   Benefits:

   1. Chinese chives: Increases appetite, benefits the liver and stomach, promotes blood circulation, lubricates the intestines, improves skin and eyesight, nourishes and replenishes the kidneys, strengthens yang, regulates menstruation, and dispels cold.

   3. Chinese Chive Stir-Fried Shrimp: This dish promotes digestion, strengthens the spleen, detoxifies, nourishes and replenishes the kidneys, warms the uterus, regulates menstruation, invigorates blood circulation, and resolves blood stasis.
