    [Treatment of Erysipelas with Yashong]

    Treatment for pediatric erysipelas: 15g of Yashong, 9g each of Honeysuckle, Forsythia, Isatis leaves, Dandelion, Moutan bark, Red Paeony, and Lithospermum erythrorhizon. Boil with water and take orally.

    Efficacy of the formula:

    Yashong: Clears heat and detoxifies. Mainly used for heat-toxic carbuncle and swelling, erysipelas, orchitis, burns, wet sores, bacterial dysentery, and amoebic dysentery.

    Honeysuckle: Clears external heat and relieves fever; heat-toxic bloody dysentery; boils, furuncles, and abscesses; throat obstruction and various infectious diseases.

    Forsythia: Clears heat, detoxifies, disperses masses, and reduces swelling. Used for warm fever, erysipelas, rash, boils, abscesses, scrofula, and urinary blockage.

    Isatis leaves: Used for high fever and irritability due to heat disease; rash; vomiting blood; nosebleed; jaundice; dysentery; erysipelas; throat obstruction; mouth ulcers; mumps.

    Dandelion: Clears heat and detoxifies, diuresis and resolves masses. Used for acute mastitis, lymphadenitis, scrofula, carbuncles, acute conjunctivitis, fever and cold, acute tonsillitis, acute bronchitis, gastritis, hepatitis, cholecystitis, and urinary tract infections.

    Red Paeony: Used for heat affecting blood, heat-toxic rash, vomiting blood, red and swollen eyes pain, liver depression rib pain, dysmenorrhea, abdominal pain due to accumulation of blood stasis, falling and injury, boils, furuncles, and sores.

    Lithospermum erythrorhizon: Clears heat and detoxifies, dispels stasis and drains pus. Used for appendicitis, dysentery, enteritis, hepatitis, conjunctivitis, postpartum blood stasis abdominal pain, boils, furuncles, and abscesses.
