Let's learn about the efficacy of Red Shin Powder and how to choose it.

Picture of Red Shin Powder

Red Shin Powder is slender and reddish-brown in color, with swollen nodes and numerous root-like tendrils. The stem is cylindrical, slender, slightly flattened, and has some branches in the upper part. It is pale green or slightly reddish-brown, with or without hairs, and has a hollow cross-section.

The leaves are ovate, elongated ovate, or triangular-ovate, 5-8cm long and 3-5cm wide. The apex is gradually pointed, the base is nearly truncate or slightly cordate, extending to the leaf stalk, and forming inwardly concave 1-3 pairs of circular lobes on both sides.

There are dark purple triangular markings on the upper surface, and the leaf sheath is tubular, membranous, and brown. The inflorescence is terminal, composed of several head-like inflorescences, and the corolla is white or pink. It has a slight odor and a slightly astringent taste.

The recommended dosage of Red Shin Powder is 3-5 qian (fresh herbs 0.5-1 liang) for oral administration, decocted in water. For external use, it can be ground and applied topically. When taking it orally, it is advisable to take it after a meal to facilitate digestion and absorption.

For the treatment of mastitis, the whole plant of Red Shin Powder or mashed potatoes and buckwheat can be applied externally with wine residue.

Whether taking the medicine before or after meals, there should be a gap of half an hour to an hour to avoid affecting the efficacy. Of course, the specific timing of medication should also be based on the condition of the gastrointestinal tract, the individual's medical condition, and the characteristics of the medication being taken.

It can be propagated by division and seeds, with division being the main method. After the winter dormant period and before the spring emergence, the rhizomes are dug up and divided into single plants, leaving buds and root tendrils for each plant. When planting, the land should be plowed, and ridges 1.3 meters wide should be opened with a row and plant spacing of about 33cm.

Two plants of Red Shin Powder are planted in each hole, and the soil is filled tightly. Manure and ash from livestock and grass are applied, and finally fine soil is used to level with the ridge.

After planting, cultivate and fertilize three times a year. The first time is right after emergence in March, the second time is in June or July, and the third time is during the winter dormant period. The withered stems and leaves should be cut off before the third time, and the soil should be cultivated for winter. For the first and second fertilizations, livestock manure is mainly used, while the third time can be supplemented with ash or compost.
