Agarwood is a traditional health supplement and is known as one of the "three treasures of nourishment". It is especially suitable for women, as it has the functions of beauty, nourishing blood, and regulating menstruation. Below, we will introduce several methods of taking agarwood.

Methods of Taking Agarwood

1. Taking Agarwood Alone

Take 250g of agarwood, crush it and put it in a container with a lid. Add 250g (or ml) of rock sugar, yellow wine, and water each. Soak for 24-48 hours until the agarwood softens without any hard lumps. Then, add an appropriate amount of black sesame, walnut kernels, jujube, longan flesh, etc. Stir well, put it in a pot and steam it for 0.5-1 hour over water. After it melts completely, take it out and let it cool. Cover it and store it in a cool place or refrigerator. Take 1-2 tablespoons, 1-2 times a day, and drink it with boiled water.

Effect: It has a significant effect on conditions such as soreness and weakness in the waist and knees, fear of cold, susceptibility to colds, tinnitus, and weakness in the limbs. Taking agarwood in this way regularly can strengthen the body, delay aging, and have the effect of prolonging life.

2. Agarwood Paste

Crush 150g of agarwood, soak it in 350ml of yellow wine for a week. When the agarwood becomes spongy, slightly cook it with water. Add an appropriate amount of black sesame, walnut kernels, and 250g of rock sugar. Steam for 1 hour while stirring continuously, then cool it to form a jelly-like paste. Take one or two tablespoons in the morning and evening, and drink it with warm boiled water.

Effect: This method has a special effect on conditions such as sore waist, fear of cold, tinnitus, and yin deficiency or kidney deficiency.

3. Agarwood Syrup

Take 6-10g of crushed agarwood, put it in a bowl, and add hot water to fill half the bowl. Agarwood is difficult to dissolve, so you must stir it repeatedly with chopsticks until it completely dissolves. Then, add white sugar (rock sugar or brown sugar) or honey and stir well before taking it.

Effect: This method is suitable for conditions such as iron deficiency, nutritional anemia, excessive blood loss, prolonged illness, and irregular menstruation.

4. Agarwood Porridge

Use 100g of rice or millet, and 15g of crushed agarwood, and 50g of rock sugar to make porridge. Dissolve the agarwood in hot water before adding it to the porridge and stir well. Bring to a boil. Do not add agarwood directly to the porridge, as it may stick to the bottom of the pot.

Effect: This method nourishes blood and kidneys, strengthens the body, and prolongs life.

5. Agarwood Wine

Cut 80g of agarwood into small pieces (or crush it) and put it in a small jar. Pour in an appropriate amount of yellow wine. Place the jar on low heat and boil it. Keep adding yellow wine to the jar while boiling until the wine is used up and the agarwood is completely dissolved. The medicinal wine is about 500ml. Take it once a day in the morning, noon, and evening, 20-30ml each time on an empty stomach.

Effect: It nourishes blood, stops bleeding, nourishes yin, and moistens the lungs. It is used to treat conditions such as blood deficiency and yellowing, weakness and thinness, dull complexion, dizziness, palpitations, and cough due to yin deficiency.
