Natural Remedies for a Cold: Medicinal Recipes for Quick Recovery

1. Ginger Brown Sugar Tea

Ingredients: 9g ginger (washed and shredded), 12g brown sugar.

Ingredients: 3 roots of Chinese cabbage, 7 roots of scallions, 15g reed roots.

Effect: Expels exterior wind, Chinese cabbage is sweet and has a cool nature, it can promote digestion, clear heat, detoxify, and stop coughing and phlegm. Reed root is sweet and has a cold nature, it can clear heat, generate body fluids, relieve irritability, and stop vomiting.

5. Mung Bean and Bamboo Leaf Porridge

Ingredients: 20g mung beans, 100g glutinous rice, 10g honeysuckle dew, 10g fresh lotus leaf, 10g fresh bamboo leaf, an appropriate amount of rock sugar.

Method: Wash the fresh lotus leaf and fresh bamboo leaf with clean water, boil them together, filter out the medicinal juice and remove the residue. Clean the mung beans and glutinous rice, cook them into a thin porridge, and add the honeysuckle dew and medicinal juice after boiling. Finally, add rock sugar to taste.

Effect: Clears heat, detoxifies, and relieves summer heat and dampness.
