Wuxiangcao is the whole herb of the Lamiaceae plant, Su Zhou Ji Zi, which is distributed in Suzhou, Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, and eastern Jiangxi. 【Pharmaceutical Characteristics of Wuxiangcao】

Wuxiangcao is an annual aromatic herb, 30-40 cm tall, with many branches. The stem is square, sparsely covered with short soft hairs, and has a gray-green to purple surface, with downward soft hairs and a smooth texture.

The leaves are opposite, lanceolate, 2-3 cm long, 5-8 mm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, wedge-shaped at the base, with sparse serrations, smooth, and densely covered with glandular dots; the petiole is 5 mm long.

The sparsely arranged cymose inflorescence is terminal; the bracts are very small, nearly round, with short pointed tips; the flowers are about 6 mm long; the calyx is bell-shaped, 5-lobed, and covered with short hairs;

The small achene is brown, round, reticulated, with small glandular dots, and has a distinct hilum at the base. Flowering period is from September to October. Fruit period is from October to November.

【Compatibility and Applications of Wuxiangcao】

1. For abdominal pain: 15g of Wuxiangcao, 9g of Huoxiang, and 9g of Jingjie. Decoction and take orally. ("Hangzhou Medicinal Plants")

2. For ulcer disease: 9g of Wuxiangcao, 9g of Hongmuxiang, 30g of Pugongying, and 6g of Xuchangqing. Decoction and take orally.

3. For tonsillitis: 45g of Wuxiangcao, with an appropriate amount of honey. Decoction and take orally.

4. For boils: 9g of Wuxiangcao, 9g of Wild Chrysanthemum, 30g of Zihua Diding, and 30g of Pugongying. Decoction and take orally.

5. For centipede bites: Crush Wuxiangcao and apply externally. (Formulas 2-5 are from "Zhejiang Folk Commonly Used Herbal Medicine")
