Sangbaipi Decoction, a traditional Chinese medicinal formula, originated from the book "Jingyue Quanshu". Sangbaipi is the main ingredient, chosen for its sweet and cold properties to clear lung heat, relieve lung qi, and alleviate cough and asthma. Banxia, Suzi, and Xingren, as auxiliary ingredients, have descending properties to regulate qi, transform phlegm, and relieve cough and asthma.

Sangbaipi 2.4g, Banxia 2.4g, Suzi 2.4g, Xingren 2.4g, Baimu 2.4g, Shanzhi 2.4g, Huangqin 2.4g, Huanglian 2.4g
【Functions and Indications】
Clears lung heat, transforms phlegm, and stops cough. Used for excessive lung heat, cough with abundant phlegm and asthma.
【Usage and Dosage】
Boil the herbs with 400ml of water and 3 slices of ginger until the volume reduces to 320ml. Take orally.
【Introduction of Medicinal Ingredients】
Sangbaipi: Clears lung heat, relieves asthma, diuretic, and reduces swelling. Used for lung heat with cough and asthma, hemoptysis, edema, beriberi, and urinary difficulty.
Banxia: Dries dampness, transforms phlegm, descends rebellious qi, stops vomiting, and disperses masses.
Huangqin: Clears heat and dampness, drains fire, detoxifies, stops bleeding, and stabilizes fetus. Used for damp-heat chest stuffiness, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, jaundice, hot cough, high fever and thirst, blood-heat vomiting, abscesses and sores, fetal movement and restlessness.
Huanglian: Clears heat and dampness, drains fire, and detoxifies. Used for damp-heat chest stuffiness, acid regurgitation, diarrhea, jaundice, high fever and delirium, restlessness and insomnia, palpitations, red eyes, toothache, polydipsia, abscesses and sores.
Baimu: Clears heat, moistens lungs, transforms phlegm, relieves cough, and disperses masses. Used for lung deficiency, chronic cough, cough due to lung heat, and lung abscess, scrofula, abscesses, and breast abscess.
