Applications of Valerian's Ancillary Prescriptions
1. Treatment of bone fractures and injuries from falls
Valerian 2 liang, purple kudzu root 1 liang (filed), dendrobium 1 liang (root removed and filed), morinda officinalis 1 (2) liang, clove 1 liang, ligusticum wallichii 1 liang (wrapped in flour, cooked until done). Grind the herbs into coarse powder. Take two qian (Chinese weight unit) with warm wine. ("Sheng Hui Fang" Valerian Powder)
2. Treatment of bruises and injuries, foot injuries, redness and swelling preventing walking
Valerian, nettle root, and thistle. Grind them together with egg white and honey, apply on the affected area, change once a night. If the pain persists for a long time, add onion and ginger to the mixture.
3. Treatment of phlegm fire, redness and swelling, pain in hands and feet
Valerian 5 qian, chicken foot prick root 2 qian, coptis chinensis 2 qian. Grind them together, burn with alcohol and apply to the affected area three times. After the swelling subsides and the pain stops, add scutellaria, angelica dahurica, and chuanxiong, remove coptis chinensis and chicken foot prick root, boil with water and wine and take three times.
4. Treatment of lumps in the legs of women, resembling peaches and plums, redness and hardness

5. Treatment of lymph node tuberculosis

(1) Valerian tender seedlings 1 or 2 liang, 2 eggs, stir-fried and consumed together.
(2) Valerian 2 to 3 liang, 2 to 3 eggs. Cook together, remove the shells after the eggs are cooked, continue cooking for half an hour, eat the eggs and drink the soup.

6. Treatment of facial paralysis, hemiplegia
