Source: The root of the plant Dobinea delavayi (Baill.) Engl. of the family Aceraceae is used as medicine. It is harvested in winter and the following spring, cleaned, sliced, and dried.

Functions and Indications of Dajiugu Niu
Used for lung heat cough, mastitis, parotitis, abscesses, boils, and injuries from falls.
Traditional formula of Dajiugu Niu
1. For lung heat cough: Dajiugu Niu root (peeled) 15g, Xianglingcao 6g, Wacao 6g.
Grind them together into powder. Take 6g each time, twice a day.
2. For mastitis, parotitis, abscesses, scabies, and all internal and external ulcers: Dajiugu Niu root, Chonglou, Baiji, Xiaonianyao, and Wuxiang Xueteng are taken in equal amounts.
