Huai shan, Yun ling, lotus seeds, and lotus seeds are commonly used ingredients in soups. They have the effects of tonifying the spleen, nourishing the kidneys, and dispelling dampness and diarrhea. Lotus seeds, also known as "chicken head rice," are one of the "Eight Immortals of the Water." A bowl of soup made with fresh lotus seeds is a seasonal delicacy for the people of old Suzhou in the golden autumn. In Guangdong, we usually use dried lotus seeds to tonify the spleen and consolidate the intestines.
In traditional Chinese medicine, "autumn harvest and winter storage" is emphasized. In winter, everything is dormant, and our bodies should also follow this rhythm by consolidating and tonifying. Therefore, we use lotus seeds and lotus seeds to consolidate. In the cold winter, nourishing the body is a constant theme, but before nourishing, the spleen and stomach need to be regulated. You can try this "Four Divine Soup," which is a mild tonic, combined with pigeon, which warms the five organs, to create a nourishing soup.
Due to the astringent properties of lotus seeds, lotus seeds, and Huai shan, those with constipation and bloating should consume them in moderation. You can add dried tangerine peel, which helps with digestion and removes fishy smells.
