  Elm tree, also known as large leaf elm in the "National Compendium of Chinese Herbal Medicine", elm, blood elm in the "New Outline of Chinese Materia Medica".

  It is mainly produced in Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Hunan and other places, and also produced in Shaanxi, Henan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, and Yunnan.

  Medicinal characteristics: The leaves are often wrinkled and, when flattened, are oblong or lanceolate in shape, 2-10cm long and 1-4cm wide;

  The upper surface is greenish-brown, rough, with deciduous stiff hairs, and the lower surface is slightly lighter in color, with dense light gray hairs. The veins are obvious on the lower surface, with 7-15 pairs of lateral veins, and the leaf margin has wavy single serrations;

  The petiole is 1-4mm long. It is papery and fragile.

  Indications: It is used to treat abnormal uterine bleeding in women, with various colors or continuous red and white flow.

  Three or two elm leaves, one or two licorice (slightly red, crushed), two and a half barley (without core, roasted), one or two dried ginger (processed, crushed).
