  Fragrant Soy Sauce Porridge

【Composition】

  Ephedra 3 parts (remove root nodes), Pueraria root 1 part, Gardenia seed 1 part, Gypsum 0.5 liang, Schizonepeta 0.5 liang, Ginger 1 part, Fermented black beans 1 he, Glutinous rice 1.5 he.

【Indications】

  3 days of typhoid fever with persistent high fever.

【Dosage and Administration】

【Introduction to Medicinal Materials】

  Gypsum: Gypsum clears heat and drains fire, relieves thirst.   Pueraria root: Pueraria root has the effects of relaxing muscles, reducing fever, nourishing the body fluids, and stopping diarrhea.

  Ephedra: Ephedra induces sweating, dispels cold, ventilates the lungs, and relieves asthma. It is used for wind-cold colds, chest stuffiness, asthma, and edema; bronchial asthma. Honey processed Ephedra nourishes the lungs and stops coughing. It is mostly used for external symptoms that have been resolved, as well as asthma and cough.
