It is a shrub or small tree, 2-5m tall. The small branches are covered with long, yellow, and hard hairs, which soon fall off.

The leaves are leathery, with 4-5 whorls; lanceolate or inverted lanceolate elliptic, 10-22cm long, 2-6cm wide, with a slightly pointed apex and a blunt or nearly circular base. The upper surface is hairless, only the midrib is covered with short soft hairs at first, while the lower surface is pale gray or yellow-brown, covered with yellow soft hairs. The petiole is 2-6mm long, densely covered with long soft hairs.

The umbellate inflorescences are densely clustered on the upper part of the branches, with 2-10 in total; the peduncles are 1-2cm long, covered with yellow-brown soft hairs; there are 4-7 involucral bracts, covered with gray-brown silk hairs, each bract containing 7-8 flowers; the petals are lanceolate; there are 9 stamens, with long filaments and protrusions, covered with long soft hairs.

The fruit is ovoid, about 1cm long, with a pointed apex. The flowering period is from April to November, and the fruiting period is from November to January of the following year.
