  1. Treatment of boils and abscesses: Crush Di Ding Cao, green onion white, and raw honey together and take orally.

  2. Treatment of acute infectious hepatitis: Take 1 liang (about 50 grams) of bitter Di Ding, decoct in water, and take orally.

  3. Treatment of enteritis or dysentery: Take 1 liang (about 50 grams) of bitter Di Ding, 1 liang of red vine, 2 liang (about 100 grams) of ant herb, and 3 qian (about 9 grams) of Huang Qin. Decoct and take orally.

  4. Treatment of suppurative infections:
               ① Take half liang (about 25 grams) each of bitter Di Ding, dandelion, and half lotus, decoct in water and take orally; apply the residue externally.

               ② Take 2 liang (about 100 grams) each of fresh Di Ding Cao and fresh wild chrysanthemum, crush and extract juice, divide into two doses for oral administration; apply the residue externally.

               ③ Take equal amounts of fresh Di Ding Cao and fresh hibiscus flowers, add a little salt, crush and apply to the affected area, at the same time, take 2-3 liang (about 100-150 grams) of Di Ding Cao, decoct in water and take orally.

  There are many different varieties of Di Ding Cao, including purple-flowered Di Ding, in addition to the white-flowered variety. It is a perennial herbaceous plant in the Papaveraceae family, with low soil requirements and strong adaptability.

  Purple-flowered Di Ding is one of the varieties, with many other names, such as bright petal chickweed, wild chickweed, and bright sepal chickweed. It is related to the former, so they have a similar appearance, but still have differences.

  2. Different plant types

  Di Ding Cao has a taproot, and its plants are relatively tall, about 10-50 centimeters in height. The branching starts from the base of the stem, with ridges on the upper part.

  Purple-flowered Di Ding has no above-ground stems, and the overall height of the plant is about 4-14 centimeters. During the fruiting period, the height increases and can reach over 20 centimeters. The underground rhizome is relatively short and appears in a vertical state, with a light brown appearance.

  3. Different flowers

  Di Ding Cao has many flowers, which are pink to light purple in color. The petals are concave on the outer side and have shallow rounded teeth along the edges.

  Purple-flowered Di Ding has different colors, mostly light purple, violet, and white. If you look closely at the throat, it also has purple stripes.
