Artemisia argyi: Traditional Uses and Cautionary Notes

Artemisia argyi, also known as "Tu Yizhihao," is the whole herb of Artemisia vulgaris in the Asteraceae family. The plant is harvested in summer and autumn, and can be used fresh or dried. However, due to the toxicity of the whole herb, extra caution is required when using it.


1. Treatment of muscle and bone pain

Artemisia argyi is a spicy and cold traditional Chinese medicine. Although it is toxic, it can promote blood circulation and relieve wind.
