Functions and Indications of Yarrow
Traditional Chinese medicine believes that Yarrow has a spicy and bitter taste, with a neutral nature; it belongs to the liver and spleen meridians. It has the effects of promoting blood circulation and regulating menstruation, strengthening the spleen, and diuresis. It is mainly used for irregular menstruation, insufficient lactation, infantile malnutrition, and floating deficiency.

Internal use: decoction, 9-15g of Yarrow, can be used up to 30g in high doses; or powdered. External use: appropriate amount, crush and apply fresh.
Characteristics of Yarrow
The whole plant is 20-50cm tall, densely covered with short soft hairs. The root is slender and spindle-shaped, woody. The stem is erect and branched.
Leaves are opposite; complete leaf blades are linear-lanceolate or lanceolate, 4-6cm long, about 5mm wide;
The apex is sharp, the base gradually narrows, the margin is entire, and the surface is gray-green or yellow-green, densely covered with short soft hairs.
The flowers are clustered in umbels, with pink or light brown corollas, often 2-3 flowers on each branch. The fruit is oval, almost equal in length to the calyx tube.
The seeds are kidney-shaped, small, black-brown, and have small nodular protrusions. It has a faint scent and a mild taste.
