Ze Xie is often praised as the "best product for promoting diuresis". This is mainly due to the diuretic effect of Ze Xie, which can treat symptoms such as difficult urination and edema. Let's take a look at the clinical application of Ze Xie below.
1. Supportive Fluid
Ms. Guan has been suffering from coughing up foam for many years, which occurs every winter. She also experiences dizziness and vomiting, dry stools, and decreased urination when coughing. This is a case of supportive fluid, which can be treated with Ze Xie Tang: 1 liang (30 grams) of Ze Xie and 6 liang (180 grams) of fresh Baizhu (white Atractylodes rhizome). After taking one dose, she immediately feels relieved with smooth urination and reduced coughing. After taking 5 doses, her condition improves throughout the winter.
2. Suppressive Fluid and Dizziness
Mr. Chen, 51 years old, has been suffering from impotence for many years. He experiences dizziness and confusion, with a greasy feeling in his chest. Drinking too much water makes his stomach uncomfortable. This is a case of suppressive fluid and dizziness. Initially, he was given Baizhu Ze Xie Tang to address his fluid intake, and then the treatment of damp-heat-induced impotence was discussed. It is improper to use Shu Di Huang (steamed Rehmannia root) excessively when all six pulses are string-like and fine. In winter, 2 liang (60 grams) of Baizhu and 2 liang (60 grams) of Ze Xie are boiled in three cups of water and taken in three doses. After the first dose, he experiences immediate relief, but the symptoms are not completely eliminated. After taking the original formula for about ten doses, he recovers fully.
3. Edema
Mrs. Wang, 60 years old, has had edema for over two years. It varies in severity, appearing in the eyelids in the morning and becoming more severe in the lower limbs by evening. Pressing the swollen areas leaves a dent that is slow to recover. She also experiences dizziness, blurred vision, poor appetite, and fatigue in the limbs. Her tongue coating is white and slippery, and her pulse is deep and thin. This is a case of weak spleen qi and inability to transform water dampness. The treatment is to strengthen the spleen and promote dampness transformation with Ze Xie Tang: 45 grams of fried Baizhu and 30 grams of Ze Xie, decocted daily for one dose. After taking 5 doses continuously, the edema gradually subsides. After taking the original formula for an additional 10 doses, her head and eyes become clear, her appetite improves, and her pulse and tongue become normal.
