Applications of Three Seed Decoction
1. Acute jaundice hepatitis
Take half of pinellia, magnolia bark, and talc, add 10g of salvia miltiorrhiza, 15g of herbaceous peony and polygonum cuspidatum. Double the dosage for severe cases. Decoct and take orally once a day. Treat 72 cases of this disease. Results: 64 cases were cured, 7 cases were significantly improved, and 1 case was ineffective.
2. Cholecystitis
Use this formula as the main formula. Add bupleurum and scutellaria baicalensis for those who have aversion to cold and bitter taste; add cyperus rotundus and corydalis yanhusuo for those with flank pain; add agastache rugosa and perilla frutescens for those with abdominal distension and vomiting; add polygonum aviculare for those with jaundice; add hawthorn, malt, and fermented soybean for those who dislike oily and greasy food; add aurantium fructus immaturus for those with difficult bowel movements. Decoct and take orally. Treat 38 cases of this disease, including 18 cases of acute cholecystitis and 20 cases of acute attacks of chronic cholecystitis; 7 cases with gallbladder stones, and 5 cases with gallbladder roundworms. TCM differentiation belongs to damp-heat obstruction and dysfunction of the three burners. Results: 15 cases were cured, 23 cases were improved.
3. Acute catarrhal otitis media
Take apricot kernel, bamboo leaf, and pinellia ternata each 10g, cardamom, magnolia bark, and burreed each 6g, talc, and coix seed each 20g. Add ephedra and acorus calamus for those with nasal congestion; add alisma orientale, plantago asiatica, and melia toosendan for those with more fluid accumulation in the middle ear cavity. Decoct and take orally. Treat 110 cases of this disease, the youngest being 5 years old and the oldest being 67 years old, with the majority being young and middle-aged; the shortest course of disease is 3 days, and the longest does not exceed 3 months. Results: 66 cases were cured, 17 cases were significantly improved, 19 cases were effective, and 8 cases were ineffective. The minimum number of doses taken by the subjects in this group is 4, and the maximum is 21. [3]
4. Acute altitude sickness
Take apricot kernel 10g, talc 20g, cardamom 6g, rhizoma anemarrhenae 6g, coix seed 20g, bamboo leaf 6g, magnolia bark 6g, pinellia ternata 10g. Add American ginseng for those with rapid pulse; add bupleurum and saposhnikovia divaricata for those who have cold after catching a cold and then entering the plateau; add schisandra chinensis, salvia miltiorrhiza, and cistanche deserticola for those who stay up all night and have palpitations and restlessness; remove pinellia ternata for those with severe bleeding and add rhizoma imperatae and eclipta prostrata; add semen terventae and fritillaria cirrhosa for those with severe coughing; add trichosanthes kirilowii for those with chest tightness. Decoct and take orally. Treat 50 cases of acute altitude sickness in patients who rapidly enter Lhasa by plane. Among them, there are 31 males and 19 females; the oldest is 57 years old and the youngest is 4 years old, with 42 people aged 20-50, accounting for 84% of all cases.
Efficacy criteria: Cure: After taking the medicine for 2 doses (within 48 hours), the main symptoms of the patient basically disappear; Significant improvement: After taking the medicine for 2 doses (within 48 hours), most of the main symptoms disappear, and after taking the medicine for 4 doses (within 96 hours), the main symptoms basically disappear; Effective: After taking the medicine for 4 doses, the self-perceived symptoms are relieved, but the main symptoms still exist; Ineffective: After taking the medicine for 4 doses, the main symptoms have not been relieved or have worsened. Results: 39 cases were cured, 6 cases were significantly improved, 2 cases were effective, and 3 cases were ineffective, with a cure rate of 78% and a total effective rate of 94%.
