The main uses of Didingcao
Purple Didingcao has a cold nature and a bitter taste. It belongs to the Heart Meridian and Liver Meridian. It has the functions of clearing heat, detoxifying, cooling blood, and reducing swelling.
It can treat blood heat stagnation, carbuncle and abscess, red swelling and pain. It is the first choice for treating carbuncle and abscess. Purple Didingcao can be used alone by pounding it into juice for internal use, or by applying the residue externally.
It can also treat breast abscess, intestinal abscess, red and swollen eyes, and external heat diseases.
In addition, it can also treat snake bites. Pounding purple Didingcao into juice for oral intake, or combining it with realgar and applying it externally.
The dosage for decoction is between 15g-30g for internal use, and an appropriate amount for external use. It should be noted that it is not suitable for individuals with weak and cold constitution.
